62 percent of people took a vacation in 2017. As you move forward to plan your own vacation this year, will it be vape friendly?
Vaping is a part of your everyday routine, from the comfort of your own home to your regular hang out spots. But when you're on vacation, vaping may not be so accessible.
We've put together some vape tips to make your travel experience go smoothly.
Know Your Destination
Once you have a destination in mind, the next step is to do your research. Different states and cities have an array of laws set in place when it comes to smoking and vaping.
Before you travel, check for age restrictions, public smoking laws, and any regulations that are in place.
As you learn more about state and city laws, you should look into bars, entertainment, and restaurants that allow vaping. While most bars will allow vaping but not smoking, other establishments are more likely to ban vapes as well.
Plane, Train, or Automobile?
How you arrive at your destination will determine how easily you can vape on this vacation.
When flying with a vape pen, you must carry the pen with you onto the plane. You cannot pack it in your luggage. There is also a limit to the amount of e-juice you are able to bring.
You can bring 1 clear, quart-sized bag with liquids in containers of 3.4 ounces or less. Be sure to bring your favorite e-juice but know you won't be able to vape on the plane.
Another thing to keep in mind on your flight is regulations on batteries. The best thing you can do is check them in on your carry-on luggage in a vape travel case. Only certain types of batteries and certain amounts are allowed in your checked luggage.
Train regulations are similar, with no vaping allowed during your trip. But, there are little to no restrictions on how much liquid you can pack.
Your best bet for being able to vape while you travel is to drive to your destination if possible.
Check Out before your Check In
Are you staying with friends or family, at an AirBnb, or a hotel? Depending on the answer, you may have to get creative.
Be a courteous guest and ask if your hosts mind if you vape in their home. You can plan ahead of time whether to look for other places based on their answer.
Unlike hotels, which ban smoking cigarettes and vapes indoors, AirBnb hosts have the choice to say whether they allow vaping.
If you stay at a resort or venture out on a cruise you will need to find designated smoking areas and speak with them about their own policies.
